1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you use our "Stay Connected" newsletter form, we collect your full name, email address, country, the topics you're interested in, and, if you choose to share it, a description of a topic or situation you'd like us to cover.

When you use our Contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as your Social Insurance Number, Social Security Number, account numbers, or specific details of an ongoing legal, insurance, or tax dispute, and we ask that you avoid including this kind of detail in any message you send us.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, when you visit our Site we automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We collect this through standard server logs and analytics tools (see Section 4).

Information from third-party platforms. If you interact with us on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn (by commenting, subscribing, or messaging us), that platform's own privacy policy governs how your information is handled there. We may see your public username, comments, and profile information as made available to us by that platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Send you newsletter updates about new episodes, resources, and BYS Media news, if you signed up to receive them;

Respond to messages, questions, or business inquiries submitted through our Contact form;

Consider the topics and situations submitted through our forms as potential subject matter for future episodes;

Understand how visitors use our Site, so we can improve navigation, content, and load performance;

Detect and prevent spam, abuse, or unlawful use of our forms and Site;

Comply with legal obligations where applicable.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles about you for third parties.

3. Email Communications

If you sign up for our newsletter, you consent to receive email communications from us about BYS content and updates. Every marketing email we send includes a working unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time by clicking that link or emailing us at hello@bysmedia.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line. Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing emails, though we may still need to contact you directly if you've submitted a Contact form inquiry that requires a reply.

We comply with applicable anti-spam and email marketing laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as local storage) to keep the Site functioning properly and to understand how it's used. This includes:

Essential cookies: needed for basic site functionality, such as remembering form inputs during a session.

Service providers who help us operate the Site and send communications on our behalf (for example, our email newsletter platform, form-handling service, hosting provider, and analytics provider). Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business transfers: if BYS Media is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the Site or email if this results in a material change to how your information is handled.

We retain newsletter and contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, generally until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or your information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected. 8. Children's Privacy

BYS Media primarily serves audiences in the United States and Canada, and our Site is hosted and operated with those audiences in mind.
