1. Who We Are

BYS Media is a consumer-awareness and money-loss prevention media brand. We produce video content and written material covering contracts, leases, loans, mortgages, insurance policies, claims, tax correspondence, service agreements, and other financially consequential documents that everyday consumers encounter. Our goal is to help viewers slow down and understand what they are agreeing to before they sign, pay, accept, reply to, or act on something that could cost them later.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your province, territory, or state of residence, to use this Site or submit information through our forms. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Not Professional Advice

This is the single most important thing to understand before you use our content. Nothing on this Site, on our YouTube channel, or in any BYS material constitutes legal, financial, tax, insurance, or other professional advice. Randeep Pahwa, our founder and host, is a consumer advocate and content creator; he is not a lawyer, accountant, financial advisor, insurance broker, or licensed professional of any kind, and nothing he presents should be treated as a substitute for advice from one.

Our content is based on publicly available information, general research, and common consumer experiences. Contracts, insurance policies, tax rules, and lending terms vary by province, state, insurer, lender, and individual circumstance. Before making any decision about a contract, claim, loan, lease, policy, or tax matter, you should consult a qualified, licensed professional who can review your specific situation.

You may share links to our content and reference our episodes for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, re-upload, or repackage our videos or written content, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission.

5. Forms, Submissions, and User Content

When you submit information through our newsletter sign-up, contact form, or otherwise send us messages, story ideas, or topic suggestions, you agree that:

You are providing accurate information;

We may use the topics or situations you send us as the basis for future content, without attributing that idea to you personally unless we ask and you agree;

We will not publish your personal contact details (name, email, etc.) without your consent, though we may reference a submitted situation in general or anonymized terms if it becomes the subject of an episode;

You will not use our forms to submit spam, solicitations, unlawful content, or material that infringes someone else's rights.

We reserve the right to not respond to every submission and to decline to cover any topic, story, or situation sent to us, for any reason.

6. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

Our Site and videos may link to or embed content from YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and other third-party platforms, as well as reference third-party companies, products, contracts, or services as examples in our content. We do not control these third parties, and referencing or discussing a company, product, or contract clause does not mean we endorse or are affiliated with that company. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site or platform you may visit through a link on our Site.

7. Prohibited Uses

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BYS Media, its founder, hosts, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or our content, including any financial loss resulting from a decision made after watching or reading our material. Our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the Site will not exceed one hundred Canadian/US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BYS Media and its founder, contributors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, or to specific features such as commenting or form submissions, at any time and without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our content, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
